 Are you a real Rommel Buff? Join us at the end of the Secrets of the Third Reich Tour for this exclusive 2-day adventure through an exciting history of Erwin Rommel; the Military Commander, the Husband, the Father, the Man. He lead Hitler’s invasion forces into Poland at the outbreak of World War II and commanded the 7th Panzer Division in France in 1940. Rommel earned his name as the Desert Fox from his early successes with the Afrikakorps during the desert war in North Africa. His fate was sealed in connection with the infamous attempt on Hitler’s life in summer 1944. Yet this respected Field Marshal and unassuming man commands more reverence now than when he was alive. What was Rommel like as a child? What did he do in the First World War? How involved was he in the famous assassination attempt on Hitler’s life? What were his last moments or words before committing suicide? We will take a look at these questions and more in a small, private group when we visit Rommel’s home of Herrlingen by Ulm. We’ll see his former residence and visit the private Rommel Museum at Blaustein (pictured below); with many of Rommel’s personal belongings from a private Collection. We will also stop at his countryside memorial where he died and we’ll visit his family grave plot at the Wippingen Friedhof.
