About the Tour
Join us on this scenic adventure to beautiful Italy - from ancient Sicily to the Italian Riviera! Enjoy the comfort of superior hotels and wonderful meals; as we travel across this majestic and historic island, and continue to the Italian Riviera in spectacular northern Italy. Take in the most fascinating sights along the way as you hear the history and stories that make this country so interesting: Visit the ruins of Selinunte, overlooking the sea; which are among the most striking archeological sites in the Mediterranean. Experience Agrigento, and see the magnificent remains of the Greek colony in the Valle dei Templi (Valley of Temples) and the rocky hill where the medieval town was built. Enjoy southern Sicily and discover the charm of Ragusa Ibla and historic Syracuse, including the famous archeological zone with its Greek Theatre. Explore the absolute beauty of Taormina, the island's top resort and the majestic Mount Etna nearby. We will top it all off with three days in Alassio on the beautiful Italian Riviera; and a scenic drive through northern Italy with an overnight on Lake Garda. Our final destination on the Tour is a mountain resort in the Bavarian Alps.

DAY 1: ROME - SICILY
Join us today as our Tour group meets at Rome Leonardo di Vinci / Fiumicino Airport and we take our afternoon 1-hour flight from Rome to Palermo, Sicily. Afternoon transfer from the Palermo airport to Erice near the port city of Trapani on the west coast of the island. Arrival and hotel check-in before our welcome dinner tonight. Overnight Erice / Trapani. (D)
 DAY 2: SELINUNTE
Breakfast. This morning we check out ouf our hotel and head along the southwestern coast of the island. Lunch and free time to visit the ruins of Selinunte. Continue this afternoon along the coast to beautiful Agrigento. Hotel check in and dinner. Overnight Agrigento. (B, D)
DAY 3: RAGUSA IBLA / SYRACUSE
Breakfast. Morning visit to the Valle dei Templi (Valley of Temples). Continue via Licata and Gela with a photo stop at Ponte Drillo Bridge. Free time for lunch in Ragusa, and discover beautiful historic village of Ragusa Ibla. Afternoon transfer to Siracusa on the eastern coast of Sicily for hotel check in and dinner. Overnight Siracusa. DAY 4: SYRACUSE
Breakfast. Explore historic Siracusa (Syracuse) with us on a morning Tour of the Neapolis Archeological Zone, including the Greek Theatre and the Ear of Dionysius. Lunch. Afternoon free to continue optional sightseeing in the Archeological Zone or to visit the Archeological Museum. Dinner on your own tonight. Overnight Siracusa. (B)
DAY 5: CATANIA / TAORMINA
Breakfast and check out of our Syracuse hotel. Transfer north to Catania for a Tour of the Historical War Museum of the Sicily Landings (World War II). Lunch. This afternoon we continue along the coast with an enchanting view of Mt. Etna to the resort town of Taormina. Arrival in Taormina and check in at our hotel. Free time before dinner. Dinner. Overnight Taormina. (B, D)
DAY 6: TAORMINA
Breakfast. Full day for personal interests in the resort town of Taormina. Enjoy sightseeing, visiting the impressive Greek Theatre, shopping, or just relaxing in Sicily's most famous resort on the sea. Dinner. Overnight Taormina. (B, D)
DAY 7: CATANIA - GENOVA
After breakfast and hotel check out, we continue back to Catania Airport for lunch and our short flight to Genova, on the beautiful Italian Riviera. Late afternoon transfer from Genova to our hotel in Alassio. Check in and dinner. Overnight Alassio. (B, D)
DAY 8: MONTE CARLO / MONACO
Breakfast. From Alassio, we travel along the enchanting Italian Riviera coastline to Monaco on the nearby French Riviera. Morning orientation of Monaco and the enchanting city of Monte Carlo. Lunch and afternoon free time in Monte Carlo for sightseeing or shopping. Late afternoon transfer back to our hotel in Alassio, Italy. Dinner on your own tonight. Overnight Alassio. (B)
DAY 9: ALASSIO
Breakfast. Full day in Alassio on the Italian Riviera. You can relax on the beach, go shopping or just take it easy at our beautiful resort hotel. Dinner. Overnight Alassio. (B, D)
DAY 10: LAKE GARDA
After breakfast and hotel check out, we transfer north through the majestic Italian countryside to the southern tip of Lago di Garda (Lake Garda). Hotel check in and free time at the lake before dinner. Dinner. Overnight Lake Garda. (B, D)
DAY 11: LAKE TEGERNSEE
Breakfast. Today we check out and continue through northern Italy to the alpine region of Tyrol, Austria. Lunch near Innsbruck. Afternoon transfer over the border to Bad Wiessee in the Bavarian Alps of Germany. Hotel check in at our lakeside hotel on the picturesque Lake Tegernsee. Special Farewell Dinner tonight at our hotel. Overnight Lake Tegernsee. (B, D)
