Day-by-Day Tour Itinerary DAY 1: IN FLIGHT - to Vienna International Airport Group Meeting Point: Vienna International Airport, Terminal 2, Arrival Level "Meeting Point" DAY 2: VIENNA - History of an Imperial City Arrival at Vienna International Airport today. Afternoon pick up at the Vienna Airport and continue on a driving Tour of Third Reich Sites in Vienna including the old Habsburg Imperial Ring, seeing the Hofburg, Heldenplatz and Hotel Imperial, originally the Vienna Residence of the Prince of Württemberg. Continue with a walking orientation of the historical city center near the St. Stephen?s Cathedral. Late afternoon transfer to Hotel. Welcome Dinner. Overnight Vienna. (D) DAY 3: VIENNA - Hitler's Vienna Today after Breakfast our quest takes us on a walking Tour of the areas where Hitler lived, including his residences on Stumpergasse, Meldemannstrasse, Felberstrasse and Sechshauserstrasse. We will also see the places where Hitler spent his time under the auspices of Viennese Ariosophists, Guido von List and Lanz von Liebenfels. Lunch. Transfer west out of Vienna this morning to Mauthausen. Guided Tour of Mauthausen Concentration Camp Memorial Site including the rock quarry and memorial museum. Mauthausen was the central and largest camp in annexed Austria. Lunch. Afternoon transfer to Linz with stops. Late afternoon and evening at leisure. Dinner on your own. Overnight Linz. (B) DAY 6: LINZ - LEONDING - BRAUNAU - Hitler's Youth and Childhood After Breakfast and check out this morning, we begin with a country drive to discover Hitler?s past in Leonding which includes the former Hitler Family House, Hitler?s Parent?s Grave in the Leonding Cemetery, old Volksschule (Primary School) and Gasthaus Schieferstein. Transfer with lunch en route to Braunau am Inn (on the Inn River), located on the Austrian / German Border. Afternoon Walking Tour of Braunau including the Hauptmarkt (Main Square), old Zoll Haus (Customs House) where Hitler?s Father worked and former Gasthof zum Pommer (Hitler Family House and birth house). Late afternoon transfer south to the mountain resort of Berchtesgaden in Bavaria. Arrival and check in at former RSD (State Security Service) Headquarters, Hotel zum Türken Obersalzberg. Dinner at a traditional alpine Restaurant. Overnight Obersalzberg. (B, D) DAY 7: BERCHTESGADEN - The Alpine Headquarters Breakfast. Today we begin with a Tour of Obersalzberg Mountain visiting sites such as the former Nazi Platterhof Hotel, Diplomatic Guest House (now a Documentation Center) including a Bunker Tour. Transfer to mountain bus for excursion up Germany's highest alpine mountain road to the infamous Eagle´s Nest (formerly Hitler?s mountaintop Tea House). Situated on a high mountain crag 6018 ft. above sea level, the building has been a restaurant since 1953 and maintained by the Berchtesgaden Historical Trust since 1960. We will hear details of its engineering and construction, as well as its use during a Tour of the building. Afternoon transfer to Berchtesgaden for free time. Dinner. Overnight Obersalzberg. (B, D) DAY 8: MUNICH - Birthplace of the Nazi Movement Breakfast and late check out. Today we transfer to Munich for a City Tour, including the Haus der (Deutschen) Kunst, the University (home to the White Rose resistance movement), and Koenigsplatz (site of the 1938 Munich Accords). Lunch. We finish with a Walking Tour including the most significant locations of Hitler's unsuccessful 1923 Beer-Hall Putsch. Hotel check in and special Bavarian Folklore Dinner and Show at the world-famous and historic Hofbrauhaus Beer-Hall. Overnight Munich.
