Day-by-Day Tour Itinerary DAY 1: IN FLIGHT...to Berlin Tegel Airport Group Meeting Point: Berlin Tegel Airport, Main Terminal Entrance DAY 2 - 6: BERLIN Arrival at Berlin Tegel Airport this morning. We start off with a transfer into town for a Third Reich History Tour of Berlin. Lunch. Afternoon City Tour of Berlin with main hightlights such as the famous Brandenburg Gate and Reichstag building. Afternoon transfer to our Hotel in Berlin. Welcome Dinner. Capital of the Third Reich Enjoy 3 full days of visiting World War II and Third Reich sites in this great city. Experience an exciting, new guided tour of the Humbolthain FLAK Tower. The FLAK (Anti-Aircraft) Towers were also used as air-raid shelters, and each could hold up to 18,000 people. Only two remain in Berlin, both were partially demolished at the end of the war. The Humbolthain Tower is the best preserved, and you will actually go through the inside of two levels of this huge ruin on our fun Tour. Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp We will take you to Oranienburg, north of Berlin, for a Guided Tour of the memorial and museum at the former Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. You will also see the 'T' Building, once the central administration center for the Nazis entire concentration camp system. Potsdam Visit nearby Potsdam, where we will take in Cecelienhof Palace, site of the Potsdam Conference in 1945 at the end of World War II. We will also point out the many different buildings of military significance during our full day in Postdam. Carinhall and Lake Boggensee A full day excursion to a few off-beat sites northeast of the Capital. We will take you to the site of Hermann Goering's famed Carinhall and show you where Carin's mausoleum was located. We will have lunch at the only remaining intact building -- the Guest House. We also see the former country villa of Joseph Goebbels, located on the edge of Lake Boggensee. Halbe and Dresden Enjoy a scenic drive south of Berlin to Halbe, and see the area where the German 9th Army was destroyed at the end of the war. We will have a City Tour of Dresden, once a pre-war Pearl of Germany and you will see and hear about the destruction of the city during the final stages of World War II.
